Facing the sea on the west coast, the house is a pitched double roof. It is planned with a U-shaped verandah wrapping around the master bedroom, living, dining and kitchen spaces. It continues the practice’s investigations in the theme of traditional Mauritian architecture whereby emphasis is placed on outside living and small span steeply pitched roofs. The verandah is a proven way of living comfortably in the tropics and it is given beauty by the elegance of the well proportioned timber colonnade emphasising the classicism and purity of the architecture.
