Building on the coast of Mauritius, particularly when it is untouched, is often more about integration with nature than about the architecture itself. This is the case for this house which is designed with a timeless quality. An existing collection of old stones, cast iron columns and balustrades recuperated over the years from demolished buildings were incorporated into the design. Old and new were carefully crafted together creating a building which remains sensitive to its site whilst blending effortlessly into it.
